Happy Endings

A couple weeks ago I was talking with a friend of mine about Fall Out 3. He was explaining to me how the ending is so depressing. The game is amazing until the ending and then it's just sadness and you feel depressed. I had a simple answer.

We as humans cannot accept happy endings.

Many movies, books and video games are being made to be more realistic. I like this idea a lot and I enjoy being able to picture these fantastic things in today's world. The endings are usually sad and horrible and very "real." The thing is, real life does have happy endings. They may not be fairy tale happy, but they are happy for the people that experience them. Yes I know that everybody does not get to experience, but there are the few that do. There are many people who tell me that I am wrong. I don't think so. Life is full of ups and downs, are there are lucky people that get the chance to end it on an up.

As for movies and such, I'm a little tired of this whole realistic thing. I'm not saying that the movies are bad, but when I go to a movie, I want to escape into a world that is not this one. I want to be drawn into a different time and place. With fairies or monsters or robots or whatever else can be so different from our world. It's just getting kind of old. This super hero and that super hero. There is a reason that they are in comics and not real life. Like I love Batman and Batman Begins was realistic and such and really good, but it wasn't the good old Batman is here to save the day. I think part of it is because I am a romantic. I also like to see the good in people. I want happy endings. I want one for myself, but also for my friends and family and everyone else. I don't care if Mr. Joe Schmo three blocks down can't accept a happy ending because it's not realistic enough for him. He can just go eat dirt. I go to see movies to be entertained and I want a freaking HAPPY ENDING at the end of my movie.

Well, sorry if it's a little repetitive. Please comment and let me know what you think. I don't care if you don't agree, I'm not going to hate you for it. I just think it'll be interesting to see what other people's opinions are about happy endings and such.

Halloween!!

So today is Halloween. My costume is done (earlier this morning) and I am now prancing around campus as a Renaissance girl. Hmmm......I love Halloween. It's sad though because not many people are dressing up. I know Halloween is mainly for kids and stuff, but come on. Aren't "adults" allowed to have fun too?? I'm not talking about the going out and getting completely wasted and drunk and having a hangover for the next three days kind of fun. I'm talking about the fun of becoming another character for a day and just being able to do and act different from usual. Yes, I am going to a party tonight. The thing is I don't plan on getting hammered. Yes, I probably will have some sort of alcoholic beverage...but it's not the point. The point is hanging out and having a blast with a group of friends. Yes there tends to be alcohol at these type of get togethers, but at the same time I can see it as helping. Some people just won't get out of their box unless they are loosened up a little. I feel like this is sounding a little hypocritical, but I don't mean it to be. I'm just not sure how exactly to put how I feel into words.

Anyways...I'm happy it's Halloween. I can't wait to get back to my dorm and see all of the little kids dressed up and adorable coming for candy. This morning I saw a little boy dressed as a turtle. It was sooooooo cute. I just wanted to pick him up and take him with me. At the same time it reminded me of my previous Halloweens and all the memories I have from them. I just find it very interesting how some people perceive Halloween. Most of the time, it's the jerks that make Halloween not fun. I just hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and has a blast. It's my one of my favorite holidays and I just don't like it when good things are ruined.

Well...that's it for my rant right now...I might add some more later if I feel like it. Thanks for reading!! *hugs & kisses*

Castles in the Sky

Do you ever questioned your life?

I do at least five times a day. Am I doing the right thing? Is this what I really want to do? Do I really want to end up doing this? Am I HAPPY? And finally...I can start to answer yes to these questions. It feels amazing! After I met with my adviser, a lot of things cleared up in my life. I'm staying in school, going to study abroad in Japan, and work towards my goal in being an International Accountant. I know it's not what I had originally planned when I first started going through majors a few years ago, but this just seems right for me. I don't know how else to explain.

Do you ever wonder why?

I do wonder why. I wonder what could have happened if something small in my life had changed. Or even something big that could have changed. What would my life be like if I chose to go to a different school? What would my life be like if I hadn't moved out? All these questions are running through my head and they always seem to pop out in the shower. I'm not sure, but I assume it has something to do with I don't really have to think all that much to take a shower. It's pretty much subconscious's time when It's shower time. I just thought that it was very interesting that I do wonder why...and it made my think why do I wonder why? Now that is the real question...and one I'm not sure how to answer.

Do you ever see in your dreams, All the castles in the sky?

My dreams are very interesting. Most of my dreams that I remember happen in the future. They're set in a time when I'm not in college anymore. Sometimes I'm in Japan, other times I'm still here in the United States. I don't want to dwell too much on them though, because I would want bits and pieces of these dreams to come true. I know I should try to reach my dreams...but that is the other kind of dream. Yes, I would love to follow the dreams I have at night, but then my life probably wouldn't be how I would want it to be. It would be really sad I think. I don't know. Tomorrow and twelve years in the future all hold the same place in that I never know what is going to happen. Yes, I can say that about today as well because it's nine o'clock in the morning so this afternoon is in the near future. But on the other hand, I have my day pretty much planned...so whatever.

I was listening to a song called Castles in the Sky by Ian Van Dahl feat. Marsha. I'll put the link up so you can listen to it. The questions above that got me thinking are the first few lines of the song. This song is really good and I like it when I hear a song that actually makes me want to sit and contemplate my life. Well that's all since I have to get ready for class now! Talk to you all later!

Music from "The Movie of My Life"

So I got this from Jenna...another one off of Facebook. Oh well, I though this one was amazing and I really wanted to test it out!! I'll let you know my thoughts when I am done figuring it all out. I'm also posting links to the songs so if you haven't heard them or want to hear them you can!

Here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle/Random
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button

According to my media player, if my life were a movie, the soundtrack would sound like this in these pivotal moments...

Opening Credits:---------- Hitomi no Tsubasa, access (Code Geass Opening)

Waking Up:------------------ Dead Bodies Everywhere, Korn

First Day At School: -------- Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, Good Charlotte

Falling In Love: ------------- South of the Border, Frank Sinatra

Breaking Up:--------- Creamer (Radio is Dead), Limp Bizkit

Prom:----------- Hot Stuff (I Want You Back), PCD

Dance Sequence:---------- Brighter Than Sunshine, Aqualung

Life's OK:--------------------- Notes/Prima Donna, Andrew Lloyd Weber (Phantom of the Opera Movie *new version*)

Breakdown:----------------- Love & Marriage, Frank Sinatra

Driving:--------------------- Planet Hell, Nightwish

Flashback:-------------------- Strange Girl, Nakagawa Koutarou

Getting Back Together:-------------- Konoya no Uta (Piano Version), Iwasaki Taku (from Black Cat)

Wedding:--------------------- Far From Over, Rev Theory

Sex Scene:-------------- A Distant Episode, Till Brönner

Birth of Child:---------------- Black Eyes, Blue Tears, Shania Twain

Final Battle:-----------------Kresnik, Trinity Blood File #1 - Gunmetal Hound

Death Scene:---------------- Sakura, NIRGILIS

Funeral Song:---------------- The Truth Is, Kristine Sa (O_O...Wow...I can't believe that song came up)

End Credits:-------------- Burnin' Up, Jonas Brothers

Thoughts on Music Choice:
Opening: I LOVE this song and it's a perfect opening...it's the alarm on my phone so it's fitting that I wake up to it every morning AND it's the opening credits.
Waking Up: Well...it would set up for an interesting morning...make it seem like a horror movie.
First Day of School: A very fun song for going to school. It just gets the blood moving and you can't help singing and dancing. XD
Falling In Love: So...apparently I'm going to fall in love "south of the border." Sounds like fun!
Breaking Up: Another good song and my favorite from Limp Bizkit. Apparently my feelings turn to anger when we break up...and I remonisce about good times past...this fits really well now that I think about it.
Prom: A good song to dance and just let loose with!
Dance Sequence: Apparently I get a slow song, with a lot of meaning. One I could easily cry to when dancing depending on who I'm dancing with.
Life's OK: Apparently no matter what is going on everything will be okay. And I'll still be successful in whatever carreer/business I am in.
Breakdown: I don't really get it at all...but it fits my luck. I would be in the midst of a breakdown while in the background happy music is playing...it makes sense in that way!
Driving: A good song that I have been listening to lately in my car...fits me now I guess.
Flashback: Seems kind of flashbacky...(if that's not a word it is now! :P)
Getting Back Together: A very slow song...that I can see bringing about happy tears.
Wedding: Interesting...very interesting...I'm not quite sure what to think about this.
Sex Scene: Very slow and methodical...just how I like it! XD
Birth of Child: Shania is always good to have on a soundtrack.
Final Battle: A good battle song. From the anime Trinity Blood. Listen and you'll see why!
Death Scene: Starts out with Amazing Grace and then switches to Japanese. I was born in America and hopefully I'll be living in Japan. This is how I interprut this. It also is about Cherry Blossom/Sakura trees. Hopefully I'll be surrounded by Sakuras when I die.
Funeral Song: The perfect song. I would still love and always love my friends and family even after I die. "Do I love you? Love you still? The truth is, I do."
End Credits: I feel that it would be perfect end to a movie about my life. Hopefully and based on the songs above this song would leave comfor to my husband that I fell for him. Just a good song to end the movie while everyone is leaving the theatre.

Overall: I'm pleased overall with my soundtrack and can see how most of these songs would fit. Go figure.
